The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are already shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest nights in music, and now rising global girl group KATSEYE have been confirmed as performers for the official VMAs pre-show. The performance will take place on September 7, live from UBS Arena in New York, kicking off an evening packed with star power.

Formed through the international talent competition Dream Academy in 2023, KATSEYE have quickly built a reputation as one of pop’s most exciting new acts. They recently released the acclaimed EP Beautiful Chaos, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and featured the smash hits “Gabriela” and “Gnarly.”

Alongside KATSEYE’s pre-show performance, MTV also announced a new wave of presenters for the 2025 ceremony. The lineup includes HUNTR/X (the vocal trio of EJAE, REI AMI, and Audrey Nuna, who recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “Golden”), as well as Meg Stalter, Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Simpson, Brittany Snow, Ciara, Drew Barrymore, Ice Spice, Latto, Livvy Dunne, Malin Akerman, Nikki Glaser, and Paris Hilton.

The confirmation of KATSEYE’s pre-show set follows weeks of high-profile announcements about the main show. Lady Gaga, who leads all nominees with 12 nods, will perform on the VMAs stage, joining an impressive list of artists that includes Doja Cat, Tate McRae, Post Malone, Conan Gray, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter, Alex Warren, J Balvin, DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, Busta Rhymes, and Sombr.

In addition to its performances, the 2025 VMAs will spotlight several honorees. Busta Rhymes will receive the first-ever Rock The Bells Visionary Award for his cultural impact, while Ricky Martin will be celebrated with the Latin Icon Award. The prestigious Vanguard Award will go to Mariah Carey, cementing her legacy as one of pop’s most influential vocalists.

This year’s VMAs will also debut two new categories—Best Country Artist and Best Pop Artist—reflecting the continued evolution and genre diversity of popular music. With LL Cool J returning as solo host, the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will air live across MTV, CBS, and Paramount+ on September 7.
