Madonna has reached another historic milestone as CONFESSIONS II debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album opens with 134,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States, giving the Queen of Pop her 10th career chart-topper and extending one of the most remarkable runs in music history.
The achievement marks Madonna’s first No. 1 album of the 2020s and makes her the first act with a Billboard 200 No. 1 album in the decade to also reach the summit in three previous decades. With CONFESSIONS II arriving at the top of the July 18-dated chart, Madonna continues to expand a legacy that began more than 40 years ago.
According to Billboard, CONFESSIONS II delivered Madonna’s largest debut week by equivalent album units since the Billboard 200 switched to its current ranking system in December 2014. The project also generated her biggest streaming week ever for an album and her strongest pure album sales week in more than a decade.
The album’s opening gives Madonna her first Billboard 200 No. 1 since Madame X in 2019 and her 10th overall leader on the chart.

She becomes only the fourth act in history to earn at least 10 chart-toppers on both rankings, joining a select group that includes The Beatles, Drake and Taylor Swift.
Elsewhere on the latest Billboard 200 chart, Ken Carson earns his second top 10 album as xperiment debuts at No. 7, while Sienna Spiro enters the chart for the first time with her debut studio album Visitor at No. 9.
