Miley Cyrus may be preparing to open another chapter of her career, and fans think a mysterious Spotify campaign could be the first clue. New billboards spotted in New York City feature the words “COMING SOON” alongside a distinctive red-and-black eye graphic, prompting immediate speculation that the imagery is connected to Cyrus.
The advertisements do not identify an artist or announce a project, but the visual has quickly caught the attention of Miley Cyrus fans. Her creative director, Alastair McKimm, also shared an image of one of the New York billboards, adding another layer of intrigue to a campaign that has yet to receive an official explanation.
Earlier this year, Miley Cyrus signed with Atlantic Records in 2026 after spending 14 years within the Sony Music system, first through RCA and later Columbia Records. The timing has made the Spotify billboards especially interesting, as a major label transition often coincides with a new creative cycle, although neither Cyrus nor Atlantic has confirmed that the campaign is promoting new music.
Her departure from Sony closes a significant chapter that began with her 2013 signing to RCA. That partnership produced Bangerz, released September 30, 2013, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and eventually earned triple-platinum certification from the RIAA.
The album also delivered two of Miley Cyrus’ signature hits, “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball,” while earning her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. Over the following years, she continued shifting between pop, rock, country influences and more experimental material while remaining under the Sony umbrella.
Her most recent studio project, Something Beautiful, arrived May 30, 2025, through Columbia Records. The visual album explored themes of healing and transformation and featured contributions from artists including Danielle Haim, Flea, Pino Palladino, Brittany Howard, Molly Rankin and Alec O’Hanley.
Cyrus has already offered hints about her current creative mindset. In a July 2026 interview with Wonderland, she described songwriting as something driven by feeling rather than formulas, saying that a song can become “its own little entity” that tells an artist what it needs. She also emphasized working with collaborators who are willing to experiment, discard ideas and surprise one another.
