Olivia Rodrigo is already building anticipation for her upcoming Unraveled Tour. During a surprise appearance at her LEGO pop-up event in Los Angeles, the Grammy-winning popstar revealed that fans can expect something extra when she performs one of the standout songs from her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.
Asked which song she is most excited to perform on tour, Rodrigo didn’t hesitate to name “the cure,” hinting that the performance will feature a unique moment. “It’s going to be fun,” she said. “I have something special for that one.”
Olivia Rodrigo expanded on her excitement later in the conversation, revealing that “the cure” and “Maggots For Brain” are the two songs she cannot wait to bring to arenas across North America and Europe. “I just like hope everyone sings like, what can I do? Like, just like a whole arena of people singing it,” she said.
The comments came during an intimate fan event celebrating her new collaboration with LEGO. Around 100 fans gathered at Licorice Pizza Records in Studio City, where Olivia Rodrigo made an unannounced appearance, answered questions, shared stories about the partnership and handed out limited-edition brick-built vinyl collectibles ahead of the global launch of the LEGO Editions Olivia Rodrigo collection on August 1.
Her focus on “the cure” is hardly surprising. Released on May 22 as the second single from you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, the song quickly became one of the project’s defining tracks. Built around downtempo rock, indie influences and confessional songwriting, the record explores insecurity, emotional wounds and the realization that love alone cannot erase personal struggles. Rodrigo has previously described it as both the emotional centerpiece and the creative breakthrough that helped shape the entire album.
Commercially, the single has also emerged as one of the era’s biggest successes. “the cure” reached the Top 10 in the United States and has already surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify.
Its importance extends beyond the album itself. The repeated imagery of emotional unraveling throughout “the cure” directly inspired the title of Rodrigo’s upcoming Unraveled Tour, which begins on September 25, 2026, at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut. The arena run will span more than 60 dates across North America and Europe before concluding on May 10, 2027, at London’s The O2, with support from acts including Wolf Alice, The Last Dinner Party, Devon Again, Die Spitz and Grace Ives on select dates.
