Who Is Hosting SNL Tonight?

Shane Gillis is returning to Studio 8H for his third hosting appearance, following previous episodes in Seasons 49 and 50. His relationship with the show has been unusual: he was briefly hired as a cast member in 2019 before being let go following renewed attention to old podcast comments. He later built a successful stand-up career and returned as a host.

Gillis has since expanded his profile across comedy and television. He stars in Netflix’s Tires, which was recently renewed for a fourth season and features current SNL cast member Veronika Slowikowska. In July 2026, he also set Guinness World Records for the largest comedy audience and the most tickets sold for a single comedy show during a Philadelphia performance at Lincoln Financial Field.

Promotional clips for tonight’s episode feature Gillis, Rosalía and Kenan Thompson.

Why Rosalía Is Returning to SNL

This marks Rosalía’s second full appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. She previously performed on the show in March 2022 while promoting her album MOTOMAMI, delivering “Chicken Teriyaki” and “La Fama.” She also made a cameo during Bad Bunny’s 2021 performance of “La Noche de Anoche.”

Her return comes after a major year centered on LUX, her fourth studio album, released in November 2025. The ambitious project brought together orchestral arrangements, classical influences, experimental pop and flamenco roots, with the London Symphony Orchestra and guest appearances including Björk. Rosalía also incorporated vocals in roughly 13 languages, making the album one of her most expansive artistic statements.

Commercially, LUX debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 46,000 equivalent album units, earning Rosalía her first Top 10 entry on the chart.

What Songs Could Rosalía Perform?

The official setlist has not been announced, but the LUX era is expected to shape her performances. The album’s orchestral scope and theatrical approach could translate into a striking late-night television presentation, particularly after the singer developed those elements onstage throughout her recent tour.

The LUX Tour ran from March 16, 2026, in Lyon through September 16 in Miami, spanning approximately 57 sold-out shows across Europe, North America and South America. Its production incorporated orchestral music, ballet, opera and theatrical staging, while the viral “El Confesionario” segment featured celebrity guests including Karol G, Chappell Roan and Aitana.

Her SNL appearance offers an opportunity to bring that era to a television audience after months of live performances.
