AZ Chike and Tyler, The Creator have taken their first official collaboration to the big screen. The pair released “LOOK LIKE MY MAMA” on August 28, accompanied by a Stacking Memories-directed music video that recreates memorable scenes from five movies while turning the track into a cinematic tribute to Black film and pop culture.

The video opens inside NRFTW High, a fictional school filled with visual details tied to Chike’s upcoming album No Rest For The Wicked, including posters bearing its September 18 release date. From there, Chike and Tyler move through stylized recreations of Napoleon Dynamite, Men in Black, Sinners, Paid in Full and Dead Presidents, giving the clip the feel of a chaotic movie marathon rather than a conventional rap visual.

Napoleon Dynamite and Men in Black provide the video’s most playful moments, with the artists leaning into the awkward comedy and sci-fi imagery associated with both films. The references to Paid in Full and Dead Presidents shift the tone toward the gritty crime dramas that have remained deeply embedded in hip-hop culture, while Sinners brings a much newer reference into the mix.

Directed by Stacking Memories, the visual ultimately reveals another layer to its concept. After the movie-inspired sequences play out, the camera pulls back to show a child watching the entire video on a television in his bedroom, turning the clip into a story about how cultural references are passed from one generation to the next.

“LOOK LIKE MY MAMA” also marks a significant collaboration for both artists. Tyler, The Creator produced the track, delivering a funky, off-kilter instrumental that pushes Chike into a more playful and aggressive pocket than the smoother sound he initially envisioned.

The collaboration has been brewing for some time. Chike previously spoke about wanting Tyler involved in his music and eventually approached him at a CHROMAKOPIA show, where he jokingly demanded a feature and creative direction. Chike had also performed at Tyler’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in 2025, making the eventual partnership a natural progression between two artists connected to the Los Angeles scene.

For Chike, “LOOK LIKE MY MAMA” arrives just weeks before No Rest For The Wicked, his upcoming Warner Records debut scheduled for September 18. The South Central rapper has built momentum through records including “Whatx2,” “Hit A Nerve” and “Packed Up,” while his 2024 appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s “Peekaboo” from GNX introduced him to a much wider audience.

Tyler, The Creator meanwhile, released Don’t Tap the Glass in July 2025, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. His 2026 schedule includes another Camp Flog Gnaw appearance at Dodger Stadium in November, while “LOOK LIKE MY MAMA” arrives during his two-night headline run at All Points East in London.
