LISA is giving fans a more personal look at her relationship with BLACKPINK in the new trailer for Always Lalisa. Released Wednesday (Sept. 9), the 80-second preview features intimate footage from her first full year apart from the group, including a touching reflection on Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé.
“Jennie, Jisoo, Rosie are my soulmates,” LISA says in the trailer as footage of the four BLACKPINK members appears on screen. The moment offers a glimpse into the emotional side of Always Lalisa, which follows the singer through a major transition in her career and personal life.

The documentary, directed by Sue Kim, tracks LISA over 12 months as she builds her solo career outside BLACKPINK. Cameras follow the preparation and release of her debut solo album Alter Ego, her acting debut as Mook in HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3, her Coachella performance and her return to Thailand to reconnect with family and longtime friends.
Another section of the trailer focuses on the relentless demands of K-pop. “We had no days off,” LISA says, before discussing the pressure that came with her career from a young age.
“It’s hard because it’s a lot of pressure,” she explains. When someone suggests, “We don’t have to do it this crazy,” LISA answers with a different perspective: “No, I can do it. I want to see what else I’m capable of.”
That drive is central to the documentary’s portrait of LISA. She has previously spoken about spending years in the K-pop training system after moving from Thailand to South Korea as a teenager, describing how she learned not to speak up or express her thoughts. Always Lalisa also examines the intense online scrutiny surrounding her career, including abusive comments that became part of the film.
The documentary arrives during another significant period for LISA. Her 2025 album Alter Ego debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and featured “Rockstar,” “New Woman” with Rosalía and “Born Again” with Doja Cat and RAYE, establishing the foundation for a solo chapter that has continued to expand throughout 2026.
Her latest era is already generating major numbers. “SaWaDiKa,” the first taste of her upcoming six-track EP PRESS PLAY, opened with 70.8 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, the biggest opening day for any artist in 2026. The video also made LISA the first soloist to have multiple music videos surpass 70 million views in a single day.
PRESS PLAY is scheduled for release Oct. 23 through RCA under an exclusive license from LISA’s Lloud Co. The project has already reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Top 10 Countdown with 371,800 pre-saves, giving the upcoming EP another major milestone before its arrival.
