Ariana Grande is expanding the rollout for her upcoming album petal with another collectible release. On July 20, the pop superstar unveiled the “petal picture disc,” a limited-edition vinyl available exclusively through her official online store, giving fans a new way to celebrate the album before its July 31 release.
Grande introduced the exclusive pressing in a short video shared across social media, personally showcasing the artwork featured on the vinyl. Holding up the record, she explained: “This is the petal picture disc and it is available for pre-order on my store now. This is one of my favorite shots from the Petal shoot. I love this one. It is intended to be sideways. Just enjoy.”
The release continues an increasingly immersive campaign surrounding petal, Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album. Rather than relying solely on traditional announcements, she has gradually revealed pieces of the project through lyric snippets, music video previews and exclusive merchandise, allowing fans to uncover the album’s visual identity alongside its music.
Only days earlier, Grande shared teaser videos for both “kiss me,” the album’s opening track, and the title song “petal.” While the “kiss me” clip expanded on visuals already shown before recent Eternal Sunshine Tour performances, the “petal” teaser quickly went viral. Set inside what appears to be a casting room, it features a poster reading: “Major Studios are calling for new faces who can follow direction and have a good personality,” a line many fans interpreted as a subtle critique of the entertainment industry.
Those visuals align with the themes Grande has consistently attached to petal. Executive produced alongside longtime collaborator Ilya, the 12-track album explores healing, resilience and personal growth. Grande previously described the project as being about “growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging,” with floral imagery becoming the defining aesthetic across its artwork, promotional videos and now the newly announced picture disc.
Promotion has remained remarkably consistent throughout the rollout. Ariana Grande has shared cryptic lyric previews on a monthly schedule, including the recent line “i hear them all say …” and an earlier passage promising that “all the seeds will open,” reinforcing the album’s message of renewal.
Commercial momentum is equally strong heading into release week. Lead single “hate that i made you love me” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Grande’s 10th chart-topper, while the Eternal Sunshine Tour continues generating viral moments across North America.
