Camila Cabello is going back in time for inspiration. In a recent update about her highly anticipated fifth studio album—currently referred to as CC5—the singer revealed that she’s been diving deep into classic music to shape her new sound. “I’m listening to a lot of stuff from the ’70s, ’60s, ’50s,” Camila shared. “I’m studying the best songwriters—Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan… but also Missy Elliott and Timbaland. I’m not listening to modern music.”

Her statement highlights a major shift in her creative process, blending the timeless storytelling of past decades with the rhythmic genius of early 2000s hip-hop icons like Missy Elliott and Timbaland. CC5 follows her most recent album, C,XOXO, released in 2024, which marked a bold turn toward edgy pop and hyperpop influences. The album received praise for its innovative sound and fearless production, with standout tracks like “I LUV IT” and “Chanel No. 5” exploring new sonic territory.

As fans await more news on CC5, Camila is also preparing to take C,XOXO on the road. On June 21, she will kick off the Yours, C Tour, bringing her energy to major European cities. Meanwhile, the former Fifth Harmony member continues working on new music, with a recent photo showing her in the studio with Dan Nigro.
