Chappell, who recently won Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards, has been gaining significant momentum since the release of “Good Luck, Babe!” in 2024. Many new fans have discovered her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which received critical acclaim, while tracks like “Hot To Go!” and “Red Wine Supernova” have seen a surge in popularity.
Now, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter has stepped into her new era. Today, March 14, Chappell released her new single, “The Giver.” The song, which she debuted on SNL months ago, marks both her first country-influenced track and her first musical release in nearly a year.
While she teased more music coming later this year, she also made it clear that fans will need to be patient, as her sophomore album is far from finished. She updated fans on the process, revealing: “We’re so beyond far away from that, I couldn’t even tell you.”
