Charli XCX has officially opened the next chapter of her career. The British pop innovator has released her new single “House,” featuring avant-garde legend John Cale, marking the first offering from her upcoming album created for the soundtrack of Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights. The track — now available on all streaming platforms — ushers in a darker, more cinematic sound for the 33-year-old singer-songwriter, following the global success of her 2024 album Brat.

With its haunting production and reflective lyricism, “House” immediately sets the tone for Charli’s new era. She sings, “If there’s beauty, say it’s enough.” The song arrives alongside a dark, visually striking music video.

The single serves as the lead track from Charli’s forthcoming soundtrack album for Wuthering Heights, Fennell’s highly anticipated adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 Gothic classic. The film — written and directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Promising Young Woman and Saltburn — stars Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. It is scheduled for release on February 11, 2026, in the UK and February 13 in the US.

This release marks Charli XCX’s first new music since the Brat era, which cemented her as one of pop’s most daring and influential voices. Brat was a cultural juggernaut — topping charts in the UK and Australia, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and earning nine Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Now, with “House,” Charli appears ready to redefine herself once again.
