KATSEYE member Sophia has offered a new update on Manon’s ongoing hiatus, reaffirming the group’s support for her bandmate while acknowledging the emotional challenge of continuing activities without all six members together.
The comments mark the first public update from a KATSEYE member since April and arrive as the global girl group enters one of the busiest periods of its career.
Speaking in a recent interview, Sophia addressed Manon’s absence directly and emphasized that her well-being remains the priority. “We continue supporting her and ensuring that she keeps taking care of her well-being,” Sophia said. “It’s hard to keep going with something that was built with all 6 girls, we really went through a lot. I can confirm that she is still on hiatus, and we want the fans to know that Manon loves you all so much.”
The statement provides the clearest confirmation yet that Manon remains away from group activities nearly four months after HYBE x Geffen first announced her hiatus on February 20, 2026. At the time, the company said the singer would temporarily step back to focus on her “health and wellbeing.”
Since then, KATSEYE have continued promotions as a five-member group, including their high-profile performance at Coachella’s Sahara Stage on April 10 and the ongoing rollout for their upcoming EP WILD.
Sophia’s latest comments echo sentiments the group previously shared during an interview with Zane Lowe in April. During that appearance, the members stressed that they were focused on supporting Manon while giving her the space she needed.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE is preparing to release WILD on August 14 while simultaneously gearing up for their sold-out WILDWORLD Tour across North America and Europe.
Ahead of the tour, Sophia, Yoonchae, Daniela, Lara, and Megan remain firmly in the spotlight thanks to “ICONIC BY MISTAKE,” their newly released collaboration with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT. The ambitious crossover has quickly become one of the most acclaimed K-pop releases of the summer, pairing three HYBE-affiliated groups on a defiant anthem about overcoming criticism and online scrutiny.
