Taylor Swift has officially expanded the world of The Life of a Showgirl with the release of “Opalite,” now confirmed as the album’s second official single. On January 21, the singer quietly rolled out a paired offering: the standard version of “Opalite” alongside “Opalite (Life Is a Song Acoustic Version),” giving fans a stripped-back reinterpretation that foregrounds melody and lyric over production.
Since The Life of a Showgirl arrived, “Opalite” has emerged as one of the project’s most successful songs, driven by steady streaming growth.
Both versions are available as individual CD singles through Swift’s official webstore. The CDs are priced at $2.99 each and will be sold for a limited 48-hour window or while supplies last. Availability is restricted to U.S. customers.
The single release also arrives amid growing speculation surrounding an accompanying music video. Recent reports from The Sun suggest Swift filmed a high-budget visual for “Opalite” in the UK late last year, with production taking place inside a South London shopping centre transformed into a vintage holiday set. While no official confirmation has been made, the timing of the single rollout has only intensified expectations.
