Zayn has officially confirmed the arrival of his fifth studio album. Titled KONNAKOL, the project is set for release on April 17, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the British singer-songwriter. The announcement follows weeks of mounting speculation and carefully placed hints.
“It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album,” Zayn shared alongside the announcement. The rollout begins immediately. The album’s lead single, “Die for Me,” is scheduled to arrive this Friday, February 6, giving listeners their first official taste of the new era beyond the live previews that have circulated among fans.
The confirmation comes shortly after Zayn teased what he called “The 5th Element” in a January 31 Instagram post. The clip, paired with a pre-save link, fueled speculation that a full album campaign was already underway. That timing proved intentional. The teaser landed just hours before his final Las Vegas residency show, where Zayn hinted from the stage that a major reveal was imminent.
Throughout the residency, Zayn quietly tested unreleased material in front of live audiences. Songs including “Used to the Blues,” “Die for Me,” “Fatal,” and “Take Turns” were performed for the first time, offering insight into the emotional and sonic direction of KONNAKOL.
The album follows 2024’s Room Under the Stairs, a stripped-back and largely self-produced project created alongside Dave Cobb. That release debuted at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 15 on the Billboard 200, earning praise for its restraint and clarity. With KONNAKOL, Zayn appears to be expanding that foundation rather than abandoning it.
